Applications Are Now Open
The Writing Revolution is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Abrahamson Scholarship Program.
These scholarships are specifically intended for public and charter school-based educators who do not have access to school or district funding to enroll in The Hochman Method training. Priority consideration will be given to educators working in underserved communities.
Each year, The Writing Revolution seeks donor support to fund this scholarship program. Awards are based on the availability of donor funding, as well as the specific needs of applicants and their students.
Scholar Expectations
If selected to participate in the Abrahamson Scholarship Program, scholars will be expected to:
- Complete a training on the Hochman Method before June 30, 2026
- Attend two 1-hour virtual Communities of Practice during the year:
- Summer 2026
- Fall 2026
- Submit student writing samples using our Beginning of Year and End of Year Assessments
- Complete three brief surveys
- Participate in a 10-minute interview

Frequently asked questions
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
The Abrahamson Scholarship is open to educators working in public or charter school settings. This includes classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and educators working at the school or district level.
When will I hear back about my application?
The application closes on April 17, 2026, and we anticipate notifying scholarship recipients by May 11, 2026.
When do I have to use the scholarship?
If selected, scholars must complete their Introductory Hochman Method Training by June 30, 2026 (for Live Virtual Training).
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship provides a TWR training and tools membership, including an introductory course on the Hochman Method, 12 months of MyTWR Tools, and additional support through Communities of Practice and program participation.
What is expected of scholarship recipients?
Who should apply?
We encourage educators who do not have access to school or district funding for professional development to apply. Priority is given to those working in underserved communities.
What training options are available through the scholarship?
The Abrahamson Scholarship provides access to one of the following Hochman Method Trainings:
- 3–12 Self-Paced
- K–2 Live Virtual
- STEM Live Virtual
